Preparing to move can be an overwhelming task if you don't get yourself organized. One of the most important things to organize in your packing boxes. Organizing your packing boxes will make it much easier to unpack once you get to your new home. It will take far less time unpacking because you will have a good idea of what items are in which boxes.

How to organize packing boxes when preparing to move to your new home:

• Pack by Room

Put packing boxes in each room of the house and pack as you go from room to room. Do not skip around rooms. Complete packing up one room before moving on to the next one so that you don’t get off task. This will make it much easier and it will go much faster than you realize if you organize you packing in this manner.

• Fragile Items

When packing fragile items, be certain that you mark the box clearly that the items are fragile. You should also make sure that you have enough bubble wrap or other "cushion" material to wrap your fragile items in. When stacking boxes, make sure that you don't put heavy boxes on top of the boxes with the fragile items in them. This will keep the boxes from becoming crushed, thereby breaking your fragile things.

• Marking

Mark every packing box that you get pack with a little bit of information. You may want to put specific information about the boxes contents if it is something you will need to find right away when you move to your new home. Otherwise, mark it fragile if it is breakable. You will also need to mark which room you want the box to end up in at the new house. This will keep you from trying to figure out where to put everything. The boxes can remain closed when you are separating them into the rooms where they belong.

• Stacking Packing Boxes

When you have completed packing the boxes in each room, place them as close the to door as possible of the room that you are in. Don't block the path into the room and make sure that you can easily shut the door when you might need to. Stack the heaviest boxes on the bottom and work your way up to the lightest boxes. Your boxes will now be ready to head out the door without any problems.

• Moving the Packing Boxes to the Truck

Moving the packing boxes to the truck should be fairly easy since you are so well organized. Take the boxes from the rooms that you least need to get unpacked first. This will allow you to put these boxes in the back of the truck and have the most important items in the front when you get to the new home. Move the boxes from each room just as you packed from each room. This will keep all like room boxes together for easier unloading to take into your new house.

Once you have organized your packing boxes well, you will see a huge difference in how smoothly all the packing and unpacking will go. Organization is the key to getting things done faster and without great difficulty. You will be able to take things directly from the box and put them away quickly. Your job of unpacking the packing boxes will be done before you know it and you will be able to sit down and enjoy your new home.
